Curious Tech – September 2025

Technology of the Month

We round up some of the coolest, quirkiest, and most mind-blowing tech we’ve stumbled across. Whether it’s survival gear straight out of a sci-fi movie or gadgets that make your daily routine feel futuristic, here’s what caught our attention this month.

Cool Tech List:

Washing machine for just a few itemsA Washing Machine for… Just a Few Socks

Forget giant laundry loads, Roborock has created a tiny washer and dryer that’s perfect for washing just a couple of items! Think gym clothes, baby onesies, or that one shirt you want clean for tomorrow. It’s compact, efficient, and feels like the future of convenience. No more waiting around for a full load, I want one!

mini robotMeet Your New R2-D2

This mini robot looks like it rolled straight out of Star Wars! This droid-like helper follows you around, carrying your stuff, groceries, gear, or even your lightsaber (we won’t judge). It’s as close as we’ve come to owning a real-life astromech. What a great idea for a present!

Google’s 3D Hologram Chats

Flat video calls are so last decade. Google Beam is working on AI-powered 3D video chats that make it feel like the person is standing right in front of you. Imagine business meetings, family calls, or game nights where everyone appears as a life-sized hologram.

A Survival Tool for the Zombie Apocalypse

It’s called the Lifesaber, and it packs survival essentials into one compact gadget. It’s part flashlight, part phone charger, part water filter and a lot more! Whether you’re camping in the woods or preparing for the end of days, this thing is built to keep you alive.  I want one!

Printing on… Anything

This Printer E1 takes customization to a whole new level. It can print full-color 3D designs directly onto almost any surface: metal, wood, plastic, glass! Want to add artwork to your phone case or personalize your laptop? Done.

At Waident, we’ve been experimenting with 3D printing for over three years: maybe it’s time to take our printing game to the next level.

Mosquito Defense… With Lasers

The nights just got way cooler. A new invention uses lasers to take down up to 30 mosquitoes per second. It can detect and track each bug’s distance, orientation, and even body size in milliseconds before zapping them out of existence. Star Wars meets backyard BBQ!

That’s this month’s lineup! Which gadget would you want in your life right now? Personally, we’re torn between the mosquito-zapping laser and the R2-D2 robot.
