Why so many single wheeled people movers?

The Segway is a cool piece of tech with its self-balancing ability. It never really took off as expected though (too expensive? Too large?), but the same tech seems to have migrated now to single wheeled options that have been hitting the market lately. Anyone really want to ride a self-balancing unicycle to get places? Might be fun to ride. Definitely smaller and lighter than a Segway. just found it all interesting and figured I would share. Click on the image below to check out more details on each one.
