If you are contemplating moving anything to the cloud, you should take a look at this CIO.com article, 6 Hidden Costs of Cloud and How to Avoid Them.

A couple of points particularly resonated with me.  First, we have seen rogue cloud apps (like Dropbox and others) cause some turmoil in client environments. Second, I agree strongly with the compliance point.  Since we work with a lot of clients in the financial industry, we know that companies need to consider whether their auditors will bless the move and areas that could be deal breakers for them. Finally, I can’t agree more with the point to, “Focus policies on information and people, not technologies or platforms.” It’s about the people, stupid, not just the technology.  Make sure the end-user needs have top consideration for any project.
