Mogo Mouse

One of the best devices you can carry...

For years I have been using a laptop full time while struggling to find a portable mouse that had the features I was looking for. I wanted something small, light, optical, wireless (preferably Bluetooth), and something I didn’t need to replace the batteries every few weeks. I tried many of the traditional wireless mice where you put a dongle in the USB port and batteries in the mouse. These worked fine but these were cumbersome to carry, find in the laptop bag, and I always ended up losing battery life just when I need it. Then along came the Mogo.

The Mogo mouse is a small, lightweight, Bluetooth, optical mouse made for laptops. The real beauty is that it stores and recharges in the rarely used pc card slot of most laptop machines. No more fumbling in the laptop bag for the wireless mouse or needing to carry extra batteries in case they run out!

I have to admit, the first time I saw the Mogo I had my doubts. The host of features were right on target for me, but it looked too small and uncomfortable to use. I did a little research on the internet and found that others had expressed the same fears, however after purchasing them; they never looked back and had very positive comments about the product. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity so I took the plunge and picked one up for myself.

Now that I have one for myself, I am a big fan. To charge the Mogo mouse, you just pop it into the pc card slot of your laptop, and after about 20 minutes, you are ready to work for the day. The first couple of days using the mouse were a bit painful (and I mean in the literal sense with my hand aching and forearm tightening up). The Mogo is so different looking and feeling that I was not sure how to really hold it. With regular mice, you just rest your palm on the device, but with the Mogo, you cannot do this. Once I found a comfortable position to use the device, life was great.

The downside is that it does not have a scroll wheel and the battery does lose its charge towards the end of the day at times of heavy usage. Neither has been a deterrent for me to leave the device in the bag. In fact, the Mogo is the only mouse I use now whether I’m at my desk in the office or traveling.

If you have been looking for a small travel type mouse for your laptop, the Mogo Mouse is the way to go. The shear fact that the device stores in the PC card slot of your laptop and keeps charged so it is ready when you are, is something that no one else does today.
