Most of the carriers today have pretty
fast data
connectivity. With one of the newer phones or PDA devices, you can sign
up for “tethered”
data access which allows you to plug your phone into your laptop (or
even home PC if you really wanted to) and have Internet access anywhere
you have cell coverage. No more
hunting for free wireless hot spots! I use it often and get about 500K
(or faster) speed. Not
too bad and very functional to VPN into the office, grab some files,
and sync
up your email while on the train, in a cab, traveling and at a hotel,
etc. Additionally, you can purchase a software
called PDA.net (http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/index.php)
which works with many of the PDA devices. This makes setup and connecting to the Internet a breeze.
There may be additional charges with your carrier so give them a ring for details.
