I get asked often what a Waident is and “what do you guys
do?”. We are not
like traditional technology “consulting” vendors or
project oriented firms.
Waident is a partner who truly believes in responsiveness and communication,
and taking responsibility for our clients technology. Waident is the
one phone call or email
for all of a firms support needs or questions; whether
it be a
desktop software program, a network or server issue, or a Blackberry or
other
PDA question. We are there to help or provide guidance for any
technology
related needs.

What
we do is simple.

for our recommendations.

So why was
Waident started?
I
saw a need in the technology market for better support services. In
a previous life, I was a CIO and was
charged with aligning IT with the business. My experience was that most
IT
consultants operated on a break-fix or project basis model. When
something was
broken or if someone had questions, they’d tell you to put
together a list of
everything and then they’d send in someone to your office
days later. Or they
would never call you back at all since they moved on to another
project. My
users were working on millions of dollars worth of deals –
they wanted their
problems fixed now. Not days later. My users couldn’t wait
for “next Friday”.
They needed support NOW. (My sense was, this experience was an
indicator of a
broader need in the general support market.....And so Waident
Technology
Solutions was born.
So, what does Waident mean?
I
like to think it means revolutionizing the Helpdesk by providing superior,
responsive, technology support and counseling : ). When creating the
company name and trying to find one where you can have a website that isn’t 30
characters long or overly common, is a challenge. I bounced around a bunch of
ideas and came up with Waident by smashing a few words together. RFID
technology which is like a wireless barcode is something we work with. Another
way to think of this technology is Wireless Auto Identification so I took the W
from wireless, the A from auto and the IDENT from identification and viola, I
got Waident. I did a search on Google and it only came up with about 3 hits
from some old technical manual for some part of a machine. It sounded
interesting and it looked visually appealing so I took it as my own.
